There are a lot of parts to your car you need to keep an eye on. In this age of automated everything on cars, a common thing to happen is the maintenance of the car gets neglected.  Believe me I have seen it all owning a San Diego auto repair shop.

After all, with cars that used to be cheap cars, like Hyundai's being state of the art driving machines, it is easy to think nothing can go wrong with them.

That is a big mistake.  There are still parts of your car that need to be maintained and paid attention to.  Most people take care of oil changes and things like that.  Although that is vital for the life of your automobile, most people forget their brakes.  Which is of extreme importance to their life and their family's lives.

So let's find out how to know when it is time to change your brakes when they have become unsafe.

The first symptom is when there is grinding or scratching you need to replace your brakes.  Usually this is a sign of the metal plates being gone that are supposed to hold the brake pads and now it rubs against the rotor.  This is a bad sign and you definitely need to replace your brakes immediately.

Second sign is when you have high pitch noises or loud screeching made by your brakes.  This is caused by a condition called glazed.  This happens if a person uses the brakes excessively which causes the rotors to get too hot.  The rotors then are burned.

You fix this by going to a brake shop like my San Diego brake shop.

A third problem is vibrations.  If your drums and rotors are warped, there will be a vibration when you brake.   This happens when too much heat cause them to lose their shape.  If this occurs, you have to replace your rotor.

The last problem to take notice of is when your brakes start to pull. What occurs when you are braking is your vehicle want to pull in one direction.  This occurs when the brake calipers are not being applied evenly.  This happens due to a fluid leak.  To know which side is leaking, you need to have a professional look at it.  You take care of this by having the caliper replaced and getting all the air out of the brakes.

These are the regular issues that happen with brakes.  When this does happen you need a shop that fixes brakes like we fix San Diego brakes.

When you realize it's your brakes that stop you from accidents, you never want to neglect this part of your car's maintenance.
