Two students who were taking a holiday in Brazil have essentially been found that they were lying when they stated that they were robbed on a Brazilian bus. They have been arrested for insurance fraud as they were said to have claimed that over £1000 worth of their belongings had been actually taken from them. However  when officers searched the two girls hostel in Rio de Janeiro it was found that the items they had claimed to be missing were actually in their lockers all along.

They have stated that they were in fact robbed but had simply got what they were robbed from them wrong which isnt impossible.

Although the morale of the story seems to be not to lie it does teach an important lesson and that is that you should always have insurance.

If in fact they had not been lying they would have successfully been able to get back their money for the items taking proving that travel insurance does actually come in handy when you use it for the right reason

s rather than for personal gain. Whether or not they were telling the truth is unknown.
So at least this story will persuade more people to get out travel insurance as you now know for sure that it works. However they could have been telling the truth as having something taken away from you is a very traumatic experience and it is by no means easy to remember things well in a situation like this.

Of course if you are not looking to go away this year a look into your home insurance could be what you need. Some of these do not actually cover you from many things which is why you might need to be looking into iPhone insurance or home emergency insurance.

Lying will always be found out so if you are thinking of claiming on insurance make sure you are doing it for the right reasons!

Look at where you are putting your handbag

Keeping your bag safe is sometimes something that is right at the back of your mind when out at a party at a friend’s house or even when out on the town. However even at close relatives it is possible that your bag could be stolen by somebody and that happy party night could be turned into a very bad night indeed. Of course it is not just your purse that could be stolen. A entire identity can be stolen with just one quick bag swipe. There are a few important tips to remember when you are going out.

The first point to make is never leave your bag unattended. it is quite a common thing for people to leave thier bags and coats and other belongings all in one room. Although this sounds likea really good idea the real truth behind it is that a thief can actually pretend to be looking for an item of thiers when they are not.

Chelsea clips can be very useful things indeed. If you see them when you are out then use them. These make it very hard for someone to actually steal a handbag as a thief will have to use both hands to even get it off the hook.

Getting to a bag for a thief is made even easier if you are hanging your bag off the back of a chair, do not do it. Ensure all zips and compartments are closed properly as doing this is making it that bit harder for a thief to touch your belongings.

The final point is carry as little cash with you as possible. Stopping your credit cards fromn being used is easy, getting stolen cash back is not.

If the worst does happen then your home insurance is not going to help at all and unless you are at home neither is home emergency insurance. The best bet to take is either gadget insurance or personal emergency insurance. Having both of these will not only enable you to claim back any gadget that may have been stolen but cash as well.

Something that it useful to hang your handbag on is a Chelsea clip. If you see one of these when you are out and about always use it. These make it very hard for someone to actually steal a handbag as a thief will have to use both hands to even get it off the hook.

Getting to a bag for a thief is made even easier if you are hanging your bag off the back of a chair, do not do it. Making the bag look like it cannot be taken with ease is key, do not leave zips open, zip them up and close all compartments.

The last point on the list is to carry as little cash with you as possible. You can stop someone from accessing you credit cards, once cash has been taken you cannot stop it from going anywhere.

If the worst does happen then your home insurance is not going to help at all and unless you are at home neither is home emergency insurance. The best bet to take is either gadget insurance or personal emergency insurance. With these two insurances you will be able to claim not only lost gadgets back but also cash as well.
