Are you like me and struggle with keyword research? I can find keywords all day long. Most of what I find are useless though.

When I used Google’s keyword tool I trusted the results 100%. After all, they should be giving out accurate info. Well, that's not always the case.

Any data you get isn't accurate. At the time it was put together it will have been perfectly correct. I accidentally discovered the answer to that puzzle.

I targeted a keyword that 'said' it had about 5000 competing web pages. I felt I could do well with that one. So I set out putting articles out. Lots of articles.

It didn't take long to notice there were now over 9000 competing sites. I was downhearted at this new revelation. Maybe it was going to be far more difficult than I imagined. A bit more investigating turned up my own articles on loads of these new competing sites.

My point being is that I'd have swerved this keyword if I had seen nine thousand competitors. An awful lot of these new sites were showing my article, thus I was my own competitor. A nice situation to be in!

I decided now to try a keyword research service as I couldn't keep relying on luck. My hope was to get some 'killer' keywords delivered by email every day. I calculated the cost of these services and concluded that they were value for money.

Travis Sago was offering a service which I decided to try. After all, he's the king of the bum marketers. And I like bum marketing, I like it a lot.

I figure if one good keyword comes each day that should save me an hour or two's work. An hour or two of my time is highly valuable to me when all I have is time. If I weigh the cost each day against my two hours work it clearly becomes value for money.

My email inbox is usually full of stuff going on about how outsourcing is the way forward. I see this as an outsourcing project. I'm simply outsourcing the job to a keyword research service.

If you want to know how I got on with the keyword research service head on over to my website and see for yourself how it turned out. I also mentioned earlier how I got thousands of articles on web pages all over the net. I'll also tell you how I did that at my site.
