One of the simplest and best ways to not only improve the look of your home but the value as well is painting. Even though it's an easy improvement to do, it is one of the best things you can do for your house. In this tough economy, anything that can improve the value of your home is going to be worth pursuing.

So here are 6 easy steps to painting your house right.  These steps come from my experience in being a painter San Diego.   So it should be useful and helpful for doing the job right.

Owning a painting San Diego company has helped me prove these steps over and over again.  So follow these steps and witness your home turn into a beautiful home and it's value improve greatly.

First step in this process is the preparation of the surface.  Unless your home has gone through a war zone, there most likely won't be much preparation.  All you are going to need to do is be sure it is smooth and sanded if you have to.

Second step is priming.  This is an easy step and the object is to make sure the primer you use is tinted as close as possible to the finish color.  This will make it easier to apply the finish color.

Third step is a surface preparation step once again.  This part of the process is to ensure that nothing was missed the first time around.  Things like holes caused by nails, or any other blemishes like dents in the wall.  You fill those holes with a drywall compound.

Fourth step is to begin applying that first coat of paint.  With this step you want to brush one surface wall at a time.

Fifth step to follow will be preparing the surface once again.  You are performing this step to double check the surface one more time so to ensure that the surface is smooth before you put on that last coat of paint.  So again, any blemishes you discover can be fixed easily with a drywall compound.

Final step will be the application of the second coat of paint.  This is the best step because you will see all your hard work come together.  So again, you are going to be painting one surface wall at time.  Ensure that the coat is evenly distributed.

Follow all these six steps and you will be pleased with the outcome of your home improvement.  A beautiful coat of paint can turn a drab and dreary room into a beautiful new looking room.

With the low cost it takes to do a simple paint job of a room, the return on investment is huge.  I have seen it firsthand add thousands to the value of the home in my San Diego painting company.   This simple paint job can adds tens of thousands of dollars to the value of your home.

In a bad economy like today, a lot of people are reducing their expenses. One of the big things they won't do is home improvements.

In a good economy improvements to the house abounds. Contractors are busy and happy with all the work. But when the economy gets bad, you can see it in the contracting business.

But I would like to point out that in this economy, painting your house might actually be a great use of your money.  I should know living in San Diego where you can definitely feel the housing slump, painting San Diego houses definitely helps.

Lets examine some of the reason why.  Two angles to consider are if you plan to sell the house and if you plan to keep it.

If you have plans of selling the home, doing some house painting is a wise move economically. With the housing bubble crash and falling home values most homes do not sell fast. The ones that sell fast are usually the best looking ones.  Buyers are picky and they wait for what they want.

Well if you choose to hire a painter, not only does it make your house look better, it actually improves the value of your home.A house that looks new and freshly painted will sell much faster than an old house with no improvements.

So by getting that professional painter to make your house look good in and out, that expense actually turns into a good investment.

Now if you don't have any plans on selling, what are the benefits of painting? Homeowners always want a nice house to live in. In a bad economy with less spendable cash, painting is often a reasonably inexpensive home improvement
I have seen this first hand as a painter San Diego.

A new coat of paint will make your house look just like new.  Do it for the inside and out and you have a more enjoyable place to live in.

When you are unable to afford spending on a room addition, painting offers a great alternative.

When a remodel of the kitchen or bathroom is not affordable, a fresh coat of paint makes that room look like new.

In these uncertain times economically, a lot of times you are unable to do the things you want to with your home.  Hiring painters San Diego contractors gives you that flexibility to still improve your home with little costs.

To most families, their home is an integral part of their lives.  Not only just for living in it, but also, family life goes on there, great times, and leisure time.

Well, when you do find it is time to start some work on your house, such as painting, this can be a stressful time and a disruptive time in their lives.

With that being the case, I would now like to you give you some invaluable advice on how to choose the right contractor.  This advice comes from years working with homeowners and also running a San Diego painting company myself.

Now at first, picking the right painting contractor doesn't see like it should be difficult. But if you think about the fact that this work can cost thousands of dollars if not more, and also cause a major disruption in your daily life, and of course can either result in a beautiful job or a horrendous job. This is a very big decision.

So here are some tips from my experience as a painter San Diego.

First off you are going to want to get quotes from several contractors. You aren't just trying for the best price. You are doing this so you will be able to get to know the company that you will be working with.  Of course getting a good price is not bad also, but don't let that be the primary objective.Remember, you want the work to be done well.

Second, find out what type of warranty or guarantees they will give you on the work they do.See if they have a solid guarantee regarding your satisfaction. This shows you how confident they are in the work they can do for you.

Third, you want to know how quickly they can start. Also, you want to get a good feel on when they think they can get it done and how quickly. When you have to cause a disruption to your life, like having to paint your house. You will have to know
how quickly they will get your life back to normal.

Finally, make sure to get some testimonials from previous customers.  Contact them and see what they felt of the company.Sell how well the job was completed, if they finished on time, and if it is a good company to work with.

Do this things and you will ensure a stress free and pleasant experience working during this stressful time.  Take it from my years of working with painters in San Diego, doing these few steps will help you greatly.
