Or room lighting for indoor shots make a big difference. Thankfully with digital cameras you can test out the lighting with actual shots.  So test the lighting is the first tip.

The next tip I will give is one should learn the art of creating depth and dimension on your photos.  In the real world we see in 3-D.  But our cameras only see in 2-D. But by learning how to create depth in our photos we can make them seem 3-D.  It is a trick I had to learn doing event photography San Diego.  Nobody wants just photos of events.They would want to feel like as if they are in that place also.By creating depth in your photos then that could be doable.
